Primer up

They taped the windows (first pic from this AM) and then primed the entire exterior (second pics from this PM). Paint will go on tomorrow, plumber is out tomorrow... we're trucking along!!

HVAC Started

There are a few things that are not how we had planned (placement of vent for the hood in the kitchen, etc), but here are some pictures to prove that the HVAC guy has been out.

Mid October News

There hasn't been much activity at the house this week, hence not any new pictures since last week. Today the HVAC guy is out there though. Builder fixed the front fence as to secure the property tighter. We got 10 more sheets of hardi-plank delivered (still missing a few spots on the back and the carport side.... waiting for the guys to put that up to finish so we can paint. Next week the plumber should be out there so we need to decide on the shower trims so that we know what valves to have the plumber put in the walls. After he's done, the electrician comes out (that will take us going out there with him to pin point where we want everything). Inspections should follow. I can't wait for the drywall and paint so I can get my kitchen and bathrooms in there!! I'll update any pics if we have some this weekend of the HVAC, etc.

It's so hard to get a good pic of the backyard. Here are a few more attempts (as well as a side yard pic) from today. Aunt E finally got to visit the house today too!!

More siding, plywood on patio roof

It's looking more and more like our house!! We believe they finished the final siding today and they put the T1-11 plywood on the ceiling of the patio. Next we need the steel roof. Soon we'll have the HVAC system in place, as well as plumbing and electricity.

Curb Cut

The city construction crew had to cut our curb, but unfortunately, they won't leave it that way. They'll put the curb back on (spend time and money on it) just so we can go in and cut it again in a couple of months. Oh well... green is not always green.

Hey- at least you can see a great view of the luxury mansion next to our house in this first shot!

Our Back Yard

A few people have asked if we have a backyard. Well, yes we do. It needs to be cleaned up a bit, but it's there. It will probably hold a modular shed at some point. There is also some room on the other side of the tree by the daycare (not pictured here).

Wow- there is so much dust everywhere (from the city digging up the street). I can't even imagine what it would be like to live there right now.

News from Builder

The house has pretty much stayed the same for the last few days (and the city still has the street blocked off every other day or so). Builder gave us some news yesterday. Apparently, the plans for the egress windows were wrong and we need to knock out more space for the 3 lower windows in the bedrooms. They must be bigger to conform to code (I guess a large person must be able to escape them in a fire). So, they're figuring that out, getting the framers out again, and ordering different windows. They still haven't moved the long windows down (that are near the sliding glass doors) and that must be done before they'll put up the siding. The AC guy will be out next week, then the electrician (when he comes out, we need to go and meet him to give him very specific information), then the plumber. Builder said within 2.5 weeks, that all should be done. Then we go in and tell them what we want changed with the framing (knock out that door in the master bathroom, replace a few boards, etc). I'm assuming after all of that is changed, etc, we get inspectors out, play the waiting game a bit more, and then get it all approved (or not). I believe the next step from there is the foam insulation and then drywall/tape and float/painting, then kitchen and bathrooms, etc.

Oh- and were you wondering about the carport/patio roof? Builder finally called the company that was supposed to have delivered the T1-11 roof plywood weeks ago. They told him they delivered it. Builder said NO they didn't. Company said, YES we have pictures. They sent Builder the pictures only to find out they delivered it to the totally wrong site. Someone got a great deal there. So now they're back and forth about it and hopefully we'll get some more soon!! After that, the steel roof people will be out to put that on.

I'm assuming after all of that, we'll need the concrete people out again to pour the driveway. I'm not really sure what else I'm missing, but it's possible it will get done by Christmas now (although I probably shouldn't put that in writing--- I am knocking on wood now).
