Re-paint

We've decided flat white paint does not go with dirty little paws. I think dog paws would be much cleaner than 7 and 5 year old boys paws. So, we're prepping the guest bathroom first for the glossy paint. Why do we try to do all of the house projects on the same day? Especially when that day is Halloween? Oh, and did I mention it's also laundry day? Been at least 2 weeks since hubby did his.

The Joys of Building a Shed

We're finally getting around to building that Ready Made shed we purchased plans for several years ago. Hubby built the floor a few weeks ago.



Then he built the sides, front and back frames yesterday.





Then today, we carried the sides, back and front to the backyard and screwed them all together.

Next, we put on the roof and the side corrugated paneling.

We basically just added one more section- to hold the towels, sheets and blankets (FINALLY!!).

More Improvements

We got ourselves a nice, live curtain for our long kitchen window. Thank you Ikea, I love you so!

And we cleaned out the office (nice hall picture of all our crap, eh? Takes getting messy to get organized, right?).

Art on the house across the street

At least there are no squatters (that we know of) at this house anymore. Hubby painted it a very cool blue with big red dots (I loved it!!) and then someone had to come and do some pretty ugly artwork on top of it. I don't mind the stencils so much, it's the un-artistic spray bottle hearts and Saturn rings that I think look kind of trashy. Oh well. I'm sure we'll paint rectangles or triangles next time... see what they come up with then.

The Joys of Building and After

Since I haven't posted in a long time, I thought I might try to start up again. There are some pretty big changes about to happen at the homestead again. We have had Craigslist people come and take up most of the rocks we had in our front yard (we are planning on making it a more useable space with plants, a fence, deck and trees). We are also going to be putting up a gate in our driveway and fence in the front yard (too many weirdos coming onto our property to relieve their bowels and take our recycling - and by too many, I mean it's happened once... that was enough). We have installed cameras all over the place (this is how we knew the crazy lady peed on our porch) and are seriously trying to start building a shed for all our goodies (if this crazy rain would ever let up!!).

In the pictures, you can see our lack of rocks as well as the rocking view we have out of front window.

One of the happiest days of my life

I finally have gotten a pantry and a wine fridge!!
