Over a week later and here we are....

In the last 4 hours, they've gotten some cedar posts into the ground and done one side of the fence. Looking pretty good.

Monday Fence Progress

They came out to solder today. Looks great. Oh, and you may notice the daycare center had their shed painted. It looks much better than before!

Fence Halt

So, apparently the fencing guy thought our material would be in stock and never ordered it. When he called on Friday, he told us he had to order it and put a rush on it to be here by Tuesday. Normally it would take another week (let's hope this isn't the case). I'm getting a little sick of walking kids and dogs on leashes already!!

Good news is that a community service project is out to help the daycare center... they're tearing down the other part of the fence (that's falling down), painting the shed, and doing some other beautification projects.

8 feet looks like 30 feet.

The beginning of the backyard fence

Builder Dad chopped down 3 trees yesterday. This picture is where the Ligustrum used to be (and lots and lots of thorny vine plants that grew up it). The other two trees were much smaller and on the back fence... they didn't take much time at all. Hopefully the fence dudes will be here later this week to set the posts and start working. They've already cashed our check, so they better be getting supplies now!

Backyard Deck

Builder Dad completed this in basically two weekends. Great deck, all heavy duty building materials (that can be re-purposed later). The total cost for the entire 12x12 deck was $320. Much cheaper than if we hired someone to do it!!
